Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) issued the ‘Enhancement of Climate-related Disclosures Under the Environmental, Social and Governance Framework’ (Disclosure Framework) consultation paper in April 2023. This Disclosure Framework proposes to mandate all listed companies to make climate-related disclosures in the ESG reports with reference to the draft standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), which was established by the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation in November 2021. The proposed amendments are expected to become effective on 1 January 2024, that is applicable to listed companies with their financial year commencing on or after the effective date.
In this seminar, we will:
- Give an overview of the proposed changes of Disclosure Framework;
- What information is required to be disclosed; and
- How company should prepare for complying with the new requirements.
