Stay connected with family and friends through social media is now forming part of our lives. People use social media to watch for latest news, to find and research for trendy goods and talking points, posting photos and video for sharing of happiness and special moments, etc. With the increased functionalities of social media applications, deployment of big data analytics of users' viewing patterns, users' profiles and preferences are becoming more transparent not only to their friends, but also to the general public.
At the same time, social media is frequently used for business purpose. Some organisations are using social media as one of the key channels for marketing their latest products, brand image or even engaging stakeholders in collecting feedback on their service quality. In some occasions, corporate management expressed some personal views in the social media but resulted in negative public relation responses.
Improper usage or management of social media practices may bring problems to organisations and individual user. In this webinar, we shall cover the following areas:
- Recent social media trend in Hong Kong
- Examples of corporate social media failure
- Social media cyber threats and privacy concerns
