(Fully booked) BDO Webinar: Get ready for the new payroll and tax year 2022

Date: 18 February 2022
Time: 15:00 - 17:00

  • Summary

As the new year has just begun, it is important to make sure you are aware of the upcoming deadlines of all payroll and tax related compliance and you have everything in place to keep the relevant authorities and employees happy.

A variety of deadlines arise over 2022 monthly MPF compliance, annual employer’s tax reporting, reviewing coverage and renewal of employees’ compensation insurance, and many more.

There have also been some changes in the tax law surrounding Hong Kong salaries tax over the past few years. Coupled with potential tax issues arising from the change in ways in which businesses operate and the locations where people work during the COVID-19 pandemic, organisations having employees who are affected may wish to have a better understanding of those changes and the potential impact on them.

BDO is organising this webinar to share advice and guidance by reflecting on some challenges of compliance of the various statutory requirements on payroll and tax compliance and drawing on the experience when dealing with various clients for such matters.

In this webinar, the speaker will discuss:

  • Employer’s obligations on various statutory requirements
  • Deadlines for lodgement of the payroll related statutory statement & tax return to the relevant authorities
  • Possible omission in payroll & tax return filing
  • Latest amendments of employment related legislations
  • Offence and penalty policy
  • Tax credit and other exemption claim for internationally mobile employees
  • The challenges to organisations in respect of a mobile workforce from a tax perspective
  • The Inland Revenue Department’s guidelines on tax issues arising from COVID-19
