On October 20, 2023, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission issued a joint circular regarding intermediaries’ activities related to virtual assets. This policy update applies to authorsed institutions and intermediaries wishing to engage in virtual asset-related activities. The latest version of licensing or registration conditions and terms and conditions for licensed corporations or registered institutions providing virtual asset dealing services and virtual asset advisory services and terms and conditions for licensed corporations or registered institutions which manage portfolios that invest in virtual assets were published in the appedices of the Joint Circular.
From the perspectives of banks, virtual asset intermediaries, solution providers, and auditors, our speakers will share their experiences with virtual asset-related activities. They will provide insights on what needs to be done to address the HKMA and SFC’s regulatory requirements.
